News Article
Another late night out at church? Yes another late night at a Sunday
night church service. What would resemble the pandemonium at a turn
of the century revival meeting has once again burst onto the scene
with Ark Quest. The Ezekiel 12 production that combines the dramatic
arts with interactive preaching has lead many congregations into times
of extended praise and worship reminiscent of old time revival
meetings.
Ezekiel 12 ministries has been invited to serve in seven of Southern
California’s churches. After a successful first tour that included
being invited to appear live on Trinity Broadcasting Network this
ministry is on the move. The dramatic production itself is a teaching
tool that has proven very effective. The players in the drama
actually preach to the congregation as they play out there rolls. The
main message that Ark Quest focuses on is praise and worship. The
lead character Professor Bob teaches a short lesson to his band of
archeology students as they dig in the ruins of an ancient building.
The
audience is actually drawn right into the message it is very
effective.
There is also a sub story that takes place during the production as
well. A spy theme weaves in and out or the production leading to some
scary jolts and emotional responses that just add the right amount of
action and suspense. During the production I actually jumped in my
seat, a nice change compared to
the same old same old church service.
After the climax of the story is complete that includes an explosion
with the good guys coming out on top. The stage is set and Professor
Bob teaches the main message in a succinct and very potent manor. He
uses a replica of the Alter of Incense that was in the Tabernacle of
Moses. I was astounded at the
utter effectiveness of the teaching. The audience was just focused
and set up perfectly by the drama portion of the service.
During the teaching Professor Bob starts to actually burn incense on
the Altar of Moses. It is the most effective preaching illustration I
have ever seen. My understanding of praise and worship was greatly
increased. Then at the height of the altar service the production is
turned over to the worship
team “Less Than Dignified”
This was by far the best part of the service. I got to practice what
they preached! The worship was deep and very moving the worship team
lead by Michelle King was very sensitive to the leading of the Spirit
and ushered in the presence of God. This was a sovereign time and
many were being deeply
touched. I am looking forward to the next tour and will defiantly try
to make at least one service.
Say goodbye to boring sermons this ministry is on the right track and
after speaking with the co-founder Rev. Mark A. Williams this is only
the beginning. Ezekiel 12 has another production in the works that
will focus on evangelism. You can find out more about Ark Quest and
